NEW for 2020 The Express Family Portrait Session!

Let’s face it, taking new family pictures can be somewhat difficult.  We are excited to introduce The Express Family Portrait Session.  Normally, we work very quickly with families.  But now, we’ve created a very fast, very affordable family portrait option at Ivey Photography.

The Express Family Portrait takes place during your 45-minute appointment.  There are no hidden costs, no pressuring sales appointments, no obligation to purchase additional images, and no hostage holding picture packages. This is truly a “what you see is what you get” family picture appointment.  We’ve made it easier than ever to gather your family for a few pictures.  Depending on your family and the combinations of photos you want, we may need all 45 minutes, or we may only need 15 minutes.

Taking Family Pictures is Easy

1.  Choose your time.  We are available Tuesday through Friday afternoons from 2-6 pm, and on one Saturday per month between 9 am and Noon.  See our online bookings for availability.
2. Choose a location.  Your family pictures can be created in a variety of settings to meet your style.  The first option is in our studio.  We have several backdrop styles from classic to modern to rustic.  We offer several pre-determined outdoor locations that are located within walking distance of our studio.  Choose from a park setting, a nature walk area, the downtown streets or a grungy back alleyway.  Each offers a different set of color and texture options, and all make great family portrait backdrops.
3. Choose your product mix.  Our base session includes your session time, 3 8×10 prints and a set of 5 digital files for sharing on social media.  For a small additional fee, we upgrade your digital files to printable quality and include a print release.

How Much is The Express Family Portrait Session?  $299

Yep.  $299. you get portraits by an award-winning studio, using professional lighting and posing and the most advanced equipment money can buy.  We are located in Downtown Midlothian and the session happens rain or shine.  Our studio space is fantastic. Even if we have bad weather, you’ll get a professional portrait when you planned for the price you expect.

How Many Poses Do You Get?

The idea of the Express Family Session is to give you the same results you expect from one of our full family sessions.  Generally, the number of poses you’ll receive in your preview gallery will be related to the number of people you bring to the Express session.  The session is slotted for only 45 minutes, so large extended family groups may find a few less possible combinations, but we do aim to give you all of the same pose options as in our custom sessions.  The main difference is that we are limited select appointment times, and to locations near our studio in Midlothian.  Some families may elect to stay indoors and take advantage of our studio space.  If you are looking for a portrait at your home or in a location other than downtown, you’ll want to book us for a traditional portrait session.

Who Can Attend the Express Session?

“Family pictures” is a bit of a loose term.  We’re happy to photograph your family in any configuration you’d like.  If you want parents and children included, we’ll likely make a traditional image of all of you.  Then we will break up into smaller groups and photograph the children together and by themselves.  We’ll also photograph parents together or with any significant other.  Let’s face it, the modern family picture isn’t what it used to be.  “It takes a village”, as they say, and we’d love to photograph yours, in whatever combination it arrives in.

What Happens Next?

After you Express Family Portrait session, we’ll choose  8-15 favorite images from the session.  We’ll send you an online gallery to view your images.  From there, you choose the images you like to match our base package of 3 prints and 5 digital files.  If you’d like to order additional family pictures, you can do so online for up to 90 days.  Your order will be ready to pick up in 3-5 days.  Your digital files will be delivered by email.
