Bridal Portraits – Rustic Style, Historic Mansion, Truck and Shotgun

Bridal portraits are made prior to your wedding photography and are a southern tradition.  As a professional portrait photographer, a bridal portrait is one of the most important images we can make for a woman and her family.  Katie came to our Midlothian studio to have us create a bridal portrait she would display at her wedding. Something that not only displayed her interest and personality, but also the values of her heritage.  We started at her family’s historic downtown Midlothian Mansion, an official Texas Historical Marker where her grandmother grew up, then we made our way to her family farm.  No matter the location for a bridal portrait, we’re always careful to consult with our brides to get a sense of the type of person they are.  Their personality, the type of home they love in and even the type of car they drive can reveal a lot about the style of images they might enjoy.  For Katie, it was easy.  Her family owns a historic mansion built in the 1890s.  Her dad collects old guns.  She drives a jacked up four wheel drive truck.  Once we’ve determined the style of portrait, we always make sure we are focused on the details of the dress, while doing everything we can to make you look your best in every pose.
